Jack Dorsey’s latest project, Bitchat, is now available on the iOS App Store. Dorsey says he wrote the app’s initial code in just one weekend in July, indicating a rapid development cycle.

Bitchat operates via Bluetooth mesh networks, allowing offline communication with anyone within about 100 meters. This design makes it well-suited for situations where traditional connectivity is absent.

Its minimalist design skips the log-in step, placing users directly into a chat window where they can join nearby discussions and modify their display name at any time.

Though fake versions have surfaced on Google Play, Dorsey has only addressed the issue indirectly, sharing a post warning that there is currently no official Android version.
