Apple’s Siri upgrade could be powered by Google’s Gemini AI, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The revamp, delayed until 2026, will add AI-driven web search as Apple works to close the gap with competitors.

Bloomberg says Apple and Google have finalized an agreement to test Gemini in Siri. If the trial goes well, Gemini could also enhance Safari and Spotlight search.

Spotlight once offered users a lightweight alternative to Google searches, but AI chatbots now provide broader, faster answers. Apple’s move reflects growing urgency to modernize.

The new Siri interface will reportedly combine text, photos, videos, and local data with summarization features. It will also draw on personal data to enable customized responses and allow users to navigate devices by voice.
