Here are Apple’s top AI announcements from WWDC 2025

Apple’s 2023 WWDC keynote made artificial intelligence its central theme. In 2024, the company adjusted course, scaling back coverage of Apple Intelligence in favor of showcasing operating system, service, and software enhancements. The event also introduced a polished “Liquid Glass” design aesthetic and a new naming framework.
Even with the shift in emphasis, AI announcements remained on the agenda, including a powerful image recognition tool, an AI-powered workout assistant, and a live translation feature.
Visual Intelligence
Visual Intelligence is Apple’s AI-based technology that can recognize and provide context about plants, restaurants, apparel, and more. The latest update allows it to work directly with content on the iPhone’s display — for example, initiating an image search while viewing a social media post, drawing results from Google Search, ChatGPT, and similar services. The feature will debut with iOS 26 later this year and can be accessed via the Control Center or a customized Action button.
Workout Buddy
Workout Buddy uses AI and text-to-speech to emulate a personal trainer’s encouragement. During workouts, it highlights achievements such as fastest mile times and average heart rate, keeping users engaged and motivated.
Live Translation
Powered by Apple Intelligence, Live Translation delivers real-time translations of spoken and written language in Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls, enabling seamless communication across linguistic barriers.
